Last Saturday I went on a Christmas (historic) home tour in Marietta, Georgia with a friend. We had so much fun! The weather was great...not too cold, just cloudy. I took a lot of exterior pics and was able to capture bunches of pics inside two beautiful homes included in the tour. I'll share the interior shots soon, but for now, here are the sights we saw along the way.
A bottle tree! I created one this past summer and it can be viewed at this link: Bottle Tree.)
This is Mockingbird Hill, a home I've admired for many years. Apparently, it has been on the tour a number of times, but I always missed it. At last I got to go inside. It's a beautiful home! And per the guide, it's reported to have a ghost! Love that! Every historic home needs at least one ghost.
This was the line to go in. Usually homes only have short lines, but not this one. Apparently, there are a lot of admirers of Mockingbird Hill. The line moved quickly, so we only had to wait about 15 minutes.
A view looking up at the double front porch.
This was in the backyard of another home on the tour. I love this! If I had an ourdoor fireplace, I'd want it to look just like this. Beautiful!
Love the chicken coop all decorated for Christmas.
A potting shed in the same yard that had the cute chicken coop...
Remember this house from a post I created titled: Celebrating Independence Day Touring Main Street America? (Click on the link for that post.)
Well, here's how it looks decorated for Christmas. Beautiful!
Another view for the 4th of July...
And this past weekend for the Christmas tour...
Love the picket fence around this house. They had these orange cones up everywhere to keep folks from parking on the streets.
A close up...
I love wreaths across the front of a home! For a tutorial on how to easily hang wreaths from double hung windows, click HERE.
We got there too late to tour this house. Unfortunately, it closed early. I've always wanted to go inside so I was kind of disappointed we missed it.
Another house on the tour:
As we were exiting the back door of one of the homes on the tour, I saw this over the backyard fence. Looks like an "outdoor" room...all screened in. Neat, huh?
Pretty window boxes...
Window boxes were on this cute cottage that was on the tour.
A rock house...not on the tour. It's actually a business.
Adorable!
I took lots of interior pics inside historic, Brumby Hall. Will share those soon.
Can't wait to share the inside of the Whitlock Inn...it's beautiful! Stay well and have a wonderful weekend! I may be back with more pics this weekend. If not, I'll see you Sunday evening for Met Monday.
