Since this table setting is all about candlelight, I didn't wait for nightfall to light the candles.
I came across the large mercury-glass pumpkin candle holders recently in Marshall's and they inspired this table setting. They were only $14.99 each...gotta love Marshall's.
The breezes ruffled the sheers on the porch today. It was so windy, I had to relight the candles a couple of times. The wind even made wax run down the sides of the candles. I didn't mind though...it fit perfectly with the theme.
I wouldn't get too close. He's pretty protective of that pumpkin. ;) Have you seen the show that's running on PBS right now called, A Murder of Crows? They have discovered, if a crow feels you are a threat, they will learn your face after seeing you only one time and they will remember it for the next two years. Plus, whenever they see you, they will go tell all their friends that you are trouble and to stay away. That's what all that cawing is about! Scary how smart they are.
White napkins are covered with black tulle sheaths. You may remember this look from last year's Halloween table setting. I just stopped by Hancock Fabrics last year and bought some inexpensive black tulle. I cut it around the size of my napkins. No hemming necessary.
This beautiful china is by Noritake and the pattern is Crestwood Platinum. Wouldn't it be perfect paired with silver flatware for the upcoming holidays! This pattern also has a gorgeous holiday accent plate that would work well as a salad, buffet or dessert plate.
For today's tablescape, I chose flatware accented in black.
The stunning cut crystal goblet is Vendome Clear from Noritake. It feels nice and heavy...beautiful stemware! I love the simplicity of this pattern. It would look wonderful with any elegant table setting.
Getting darker now...
A few more candlelight pics... The black candlesticks are just inexpensive brass candle holders that were painted black. I found them while out antiquing/thrifting one day. They were last used in THIS Halloween table setting.
