sandy skoglund :: fox games

Sandy Skoglund combines a full range of disciplines: theater to set the stage and cast of characters, sculpture to define the space, paint to create color, and photography to fuse the elements together.

Fox Games is no exception, combining various elements and imagery to create a fantastic world. The installation depicts an invasion of gray foxes, sculpted in clay and cast in polyester resin, within a restaurant. The foxes prowl on and around red tables in an entirely red room. Every element of the installation—forks, knives, plates, dinner rolls, and even a squirrel in the mouth of one of the foxes—is painted red.

marcos and myself were able to go to the denver art museum this past month and we were able to walk through this lovely exhibit. it was really quite interesting and unique. i wanted to share it with you all. enjoy!
