Things I Love Thursday

Things have been, and will continue to be, a wee bit slow on this side of the blogosphere! Mike and I have been putting in roughly 8 to 10 hours a day working on handmade goodies for the past week, and so far we have 400+ bows, headbands, felt goodies and chiffon blossoms that we've been working on. We're hoping to get in a craft show soon (If you know of any in the Middle Tennessee area, please let us know!) and the rest will be Etsy goodies if I ever get to update the shop! I've taught Mike how to use my sewing machine and how to craft all sorts of sweet little things so I think it's so awesome that he's so willing to help me! It's so fun (and easy!) to work 8 hour days when you're with your best friend! He's been such a trooper! Minus the slight hiccup of my machine breaking (and the abundance of blisters, bruises & sore hands) we're managing to get SO much done! Here's to more productivity! That's my #1 favorite for this week!

Here are more things I'm loving...

♥ this how-to on lucid dreaming ♥

♥ this cotton candy haired couple ♥

♥ this sweet family of frenchies ♥

♥ this show & picture of sheldon ♥

Valentine's Day Table Setting: Welcome to the 128th Tablescape Thursday!

Hi Everyone! Hope your week is going great! Today I'm sharing a Valentine's Day tablescape with a fun little "Ice Cream Candy-Bar Sundae" centerpiece. I've posted the tutorial showing how it's made HERE. This sweet treat makes a great Valentine's Day or birthday gift. You'll love how easy and inexpensive it is to make. Also, you'll find a tutorial for the napkin fold I used in this tablescape, HERE.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What's In My Bag?

It's definitely the blogger cliche... but it's a fun one! If you're a curious person at all (Let's be honest, you are! If you weren't you wouldn't be reading blogs!) then you love them! I'm a huge fan of the Tumblr version, too! So here it is! My bag.... It's always big to carry the copious amount of things I shove in it. I actually didn't include the Instax 210 even though it was definitely shoved in there. There's usually a few pounds of change, too, but I cleaned it out a bit prior. Okay, there were also a ton of receipts. I always swear I won't shove those darn things in my bag but I always find a crumpled mess. Oh well!

In My Purse You Will Find...:

  • Purse (Forever 21)
  • Random Instax Mini and 210 Photos
  • iPhone 3Gs with Cath Kidston iPhone Case
  • iPhone 4
  • Kleenex-To-Go
  • Pink Nintendo DS Lite (with Animal Crossing)
  • Instax Mini Choco
  • Instax Mini Film 2-Pack
  • Handmade Shark Make-Up Case (from a PenPal!)
  • Flip Mino HD Video Camera
  • Janky Cheapo Disposable Camera
  • Various Pens and Sharpies
  • MAC Plushglass in Ample Pink
  • SoftLips Lip Balm
  • Rimmel Lipstick
  • Wallet with Various Cards and Wallet-y Stuff
  • Travel Sewing Kit
  • Rose Perfume from Anthropologie (So Lovely!)
  • Zyrtec (Magic Pills!)
  • Random Nail Polishes

Surprise Your Sweetheart on Valentine's Day!

Pssst, over here. Shhh, I have to whisper, so your Valentine Sweetheart doesn't hear. Guess what! It's the neatest thing! If you put all your valentine cards in a big envelope and send them to the Postmaster in the tiny town of Valentine, Texas, she will stamp them all with a big RED stamp that says: VALENTINE, TEXAS!

Imagine your Valentine's face when they see that special postmark...I just totally this idea. :-)

Okay...here's how it works. Put all your fully addressed and stamped Valentine's Day cards in one big envelope and send them to:

Valentine Post Office,
Valentine, Texas 79854-5400

Your valentines need to arrive at the Valentine Post Office by February 7th. You will probably want to mail the large envelope with all the valentines in it from your local post office so you will know that you've used the correct postage. The Valentine Post Office does this every year and they don't charge anything extra for the more than 10,000 Valentine's Day cards they postmark each year. Their postmaster, Ann Carrasco, calls their post office the "Love Station of Texas." :)

To make sure the red Valentine, Texas postmark shows up, it's best to NOT send your valentines in red envelopes. The post office recommends mailing your valentine in a pink, white, or lavender envelope. If you'd like more information, you may call: (432) 467-2912.

Click HERE to see the postmarks and addresses for several other post offices that also have special postmarks for your Valentine's Day cards.

You can read more about this yearly tradition in Valentine, TX, HERE.

February Giveaway: Oktomat 8-lens Camera! -- CLOSED!

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!

I loved the response of last month's giveaway and if there's one thing that Mike and I love, it's cameras! We wanted to keep the ball rolling with Lomography goodies because as you could see from our photos the other day, we have so so many that we love and use constantly! I first purchased our Oktomat a few years ago and quickly lost interest in it. I'm not sure why, but I think it had to do with the fact I hate to read instructions and I'm very impatient. It didn't take too terribly long for me to pick it back up though! Mike has loved it but we often misplace it! Whoops! I love that you can take 8 pictures in one! The Oktomat uses it's 8 lenses to capture 8 images in 2.5 seconds! They can be so fun!

All you have to do to enter is:
Be a follower of this blog with Google Friend Connect! (Click "Follow" in the upper nav bar and follow with Google/Blogger, Twitter, Yahoo, or Aim!) and then leave a comment with your email address! (This is just one entry!) You must do this entry first to be eligible for additional entries!
