Target Birds on Holiday, Outdoor Wednesday and What's On Your Wall Wednesday

Wednesday is the day...the day all Target birds return from their high-flying adventures. All across Blogland, exhausted and happy Target birds are flying in with huge grins on their faces. Why? Because they have been on holiday for the past week...and what fun they did have!

I'll be linking to Outdoor Wednesday with Susan at A Southern Daydreamer, since there are lots of outdoor pics in this post. :-)

Here's an additional one that I wanted to share today...I took it while working on this week's Tablescape Thursday post. The Goldfinches are back and they are hungry! Look at this guy coming in for a landing. There were so many, I ended up putting two nyjer feeders out. Please click on the pic to enlarge it for a much better view.

Be sure and visit Susan by clicking HERE for more outdoor fun!

I'm am also linking this post to Barb's, What's on Your Wall Wednesday...since Emma and Harold spend their days (when not on holiday) on a shelf...which just so happens to be mounted to a wall. :-) Be sure to visit Barb at Grits and Glamour by clicking HERE.

My Target birds, Emma and Harold were last seen by Max kitty taking off for parts unknown. Max tried to stop them but they were determined and managed to get by him...

As they left, they promised they would be back in a week. True to their word, they have returned...bringing back wild stories and pictures of all their fun and escapades!

Emma and Harold started their week's vacation by doing a little house hunting...they seriously consider this little Italian villa....

But in the end, they went with a lovely, 3 hole, I mean 3 bedroom, cottage that their realtor (dressed in blue) showed them. Emma especially liked the landscaped backyard, complete with a pergola overhead.

After buying their cozy cottage, they settled in. Harold likes to spend his time in the family room where he lovingly hung a painting over the mantel of his father, Big Bird, an actor with a prestigious career in a long running television sitcom. Emma can usually be found downstairs baking in the kitchen.

When cooking, Emma prefers to use the fresh vegetables she gathers from the garden she and Harold put in during their holiday. Harold has a reputation for having the biggest and juiciest tomatoes in the neighborhood!

While Emma and Harold were taking a break from tablescaping work, they managed to get in a few games of Monopoly. Emma, being a typical woman...always likes to be the "shoe"...you know how we women love our shoes. Harold, however, loves being the hat...which he usually insists on wearing throughout the game.

Emma has been known to pitch a regular hissy fit, throwing herself down on the floor and kicking her feet, if she draws the Chance card sending her "Directly to Jail."

Harold usual takes pity on her and shares his "Get Out Of Jail Free" card...that Harold is such a gentlebird.

After all the house hunting and gardening last week, Emma and Harold decided to take a real vacation and set out to see the sites. They enjoyed some time at Yosemite...the waterfalls are especially beautiful in the spring time after the winter thaw.

Yosemite had a great little playground area making Emma and Harold feel like fledglings all over again. Harold kept trying to get Emma to come have a go at the see-saw, but Emma was having way too much fun playing on the slide.

Emma and Harold managed to get a little shopping in while on holiday. Harold preferred to window shop but Emma insisted on going into some of the quaint shoppes.

While on holiday, Harold took Emma to The Ivy for a romantic candlelit dinner. They were treated like royalty...it really helps having a famous father in show biz.

While dining, Harold ran into one of his father's old friends, Oscar, another well-known actor with whom his Dad worked on the same sitcom. Oscar is a bit eccentric, as many actors tend to be, and has an "unusual" home near the restaurant where Emma and Harold dined.

Harold got a little restless while on holiday and longed to try something a bit more adventurous. He convinced Emma to go on one of those crazy helicopter rides.

Emma didn't really get the whole helicopter thing since flying is something they do all the time.

Emma and Harold were more than a little embarrassed when their helicopter had to make an emergency landing in the midst of a nud*ist colony!

Harold, however, quickly recovered and joined in the fun. Emma is saving this picture for future blackmail...after all, a bird can never have too many dishes for tablescaping.

Emma and Harold are back home now, resting up after their big adventure. They are enjoying their evenings in their cozy cottage under the pergola, while their days are spent here amongst the dishes, awaiting their next tablescaping assignment.

I wonder what all the other Target birds did while away on holiday...let's go see! :-)
