Metamorphosis Monday:
Last Met Monday, I shared a metamorphosis of the sky as it goes from daylight to evening to the Blue Hour. If you aren't sure what the "blue hour is" click HERE to read last week's MM post.
Many of you were excited to capture your own blue hour pics. Thanks for sending those pics my way so I could share them with BNOTP readers tonight.
In addition to a beautiful tablescape, Beth caught a few pics of the blue hour outside her window...
What a gorgeous blue!
Cornelia, whose beautiful home is in Switzerland, accidentally caught the blue hour when taking a few pics at dinner time...
Debbie took this shot just over her home. In case you are wondering, for these pics she used a tripod with her camera set so that the ISO was 100-200. The shutter speed was set up for 3 seconds.
Kathy took these three blue hour pics in London:
Parliament and the Thames River...
The Tower Bridge...
Big Ben:
Kathy is sharing these blue hour pics, taken from her beautiful home...
Beautiful tablesetting with a backdrop of gorgeous blue...
Mary, who lives in Virginia, captured these two blue hour pics over her home...
Great job, Mary! Gorgeous blue!
Nanci took these during a stunning sunrise...
Now this would be worth getting up early to see!
Rebecca took these blue hour pics in Gibraltar...sooo pretty!
Sarah enjoyed dinner in the beautiful garden outside her home under blue hour skies:
Bonnie shared this amazing pic...
Thanks to everyone who sent their blue hour pics! Loved seeing them all!
On Saturday, I shared this view out my breakfast window. It shows one of the decks off the screened in porch...the one with a pergola overhead, from which hangs a candlelier.
I took this pic at the very start of the blue hour here in Georgia. I wish I had thought to turn off the light in the dining room. I was so focused on the sky, I didn't notice the reflection of the dining room walls in the photo.
I stepped out onto the deck and continued taking pics...
Every few minutes, the sky gets a bit deeper blue...
A few shots from different angles...
One last shot with the little string lights surrounding the pergola/deck, turned on...
To see when the "blue hour" arrives in your area of the country/world, click HERE. Be sure to use a tripod if possible when taking your blue hour pics. Because it's so late in the evening and the lighting is greatly reduced, it's very important that the camera remain perfectly steady for the best blue light pics.
