maybe if we all smiled

i wanted to do a happy post, a smile post. just some fun, cute pictures of people smiling. being happy. i have noticed that lately with work and just the stress of life, i have not been smiling as much. such a silly thing to let go downhill - but it does. and fast. one moment you're unhappy with a co-worker. and it turns into an unhappy ride home with your boyfriend. then the night turns sour because the complaining comes out. and so does everything else that has made you sad or upset in the last four years...

i have decided, that these girls in these pictures are gorgeous. and it's all because they share one thing in common; a gorgeous smile. sometimes when things go south it is hard to smile. sometimes it's easier to just get wrapped up the negative. the negative has got to go. the frowns, bitter attitudes need to leave. i have decided to smile. too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all which have the potential to turn a life around.

Resolutions

every year i tell myself 'this year is going to be great. i'm going to work on my new years resolutions and it's going to go perfectly.' then about a week later, i forget and move on forever. i want to make a conscious effort to make this work this year...so wish me luck. ♥

i need to play the piano more. i have taken piano lessons from the time that i was about 3 years old until i was about 18. in the midst of my lessons i also assisted my aunt who was my piano teacher and eventually started teaching lessons myself. when i was 18 i moved out of my parents' home and out of state into utah. this was about 3 years ago. i have rarely touched the piano since i stopped teaching. i love listening to music that has piano in it, and every time i do i crave to just sit on the bench and just play. 

i am not going to eat out. my boyfriend and i have been doing this for about 2 weeks now and have only eaten out once with some friends. and even when we ate out, we had salad. not only is it going to be more healthy for us, we have a really good time making meals together at home.

i need to take more pictures. i need to document my life. rare an occasion when i have my camera ready at some fun event. i need to be better about taking pictures.

every few months or so i start doing my p90x work outs or start running. and i do really well for a few weeks and then i stop because i don't see immediate results like i want to. so i need to do something active and continue it no matter how much difference i see because i know that eventually it will pay off.

my boyfriend and i are starting to save money. we have put together a finance chart so we can see what money comes in and where it is going out. we need to better manage our finances. which means in all reality that i need to stay away from the mall. ♥

i want to get a super cute tattoo like the one above. something small. something simple. as long as it matches then i will be happy. but we'll see how that goes...

i need to laugh and smile more. and not take things so seriously. i have a bit of an attitude problem sometimes. i need to be more carefree. i'm working on it.

Laugh Out Loud

i will do a short explanation of what's going on before we get into it:

there are a few rad people that i work with, that like to chat. we chat about anything and everything. there is always something to chat about. work stuff. people stuff. you know...stuff. 

there is one person that we work with that has been assigned to be the mentor of all of the supervisors on our floor. she is in charge of making sure that things get done. she is a 'pusher' if you will. she is to push us to get assignments done and make a change for good. which okay, that sounds like a great idea. but i digress.

we supervisors get tickets which are technical issues with our system, or escalated customers that need to speak with someone 'higher up'. they sit in an inbox until we complete them.

myself and a few of mentioned friends, get our tickets done in a timely manner, as we should. because why? it's our job. the mentor, not so much. so we believe that she needs to work on her own work, before she should be 'pushing' us to do ours. it only makes sense, right?

soooooooo, i get this IM the other day when i get to my computer after lunch. and i almost died. here goes...the following is the chat correspondence i had with a friend...
