Ideeli

Thanks to Diana's tip on Twitter, I snagged up these pretty pieces on super duper sale on Ideeli! I love love love discount shopping sites. I'm frugal and I like to get things cheap. Even better if the quality is stellar, the piece is pretty, and the price tag doesn't induce sticker shock. Today I snagged up...

Pretty pretty heart shaped tea cups and saucer set ($15!)

Babycakes Cupcake Maker (so cute! I wanted pink but this shall do! scratch that! i got the pink! y ahooo!) ($15)

Betsey Johnson portrait tote ($25)
(This was actually $50 on PLNDR the other day and I almost got it with my credit, but I'm glad I waited!)

And everything isn't sold out, either! The sale is still going on for another 7 or so hours so HERE is an invite if you'd like to join and check it out! Seriously, you need to snag up some of this stuff! xo

LAST CHANCE! 31 Days To A Better Blog + Some!

Hey there honeybees! I've been hard at work with these fascinators in hopes of updating the shop this week (next week at the latest!) and I received an email from Darren Rowse (of ProBlogger fame) saying that the 31 Days To A Better Blog e-book will not be available for the 50% discount of $19.95 after May 10th! On May 10th the price will go up to $29.95 (which is still $10 off the original, but not quite as good as half off!). With that being said, I wanted to offer it up to anyone else who wanted to buy it! I know so many of you are new readers and I'm so happy to have you! I'm copying and pasting the entry from the first of February below! Hopefully I'll be back with something snazzy for you this evening! xo

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I received an email Thursday night asking for the e-book and codes I had posted previously on the blog, and I realized that I never made a side panel for these items! (It's still on my to-do list!) Seeing as the blog has grown significantly I wanted to offer them up to new readers and touch base on why I think they're awesome. I can't even begin to thank you enough for the amazing feedback I received on the Blogging DOs and DONTs that I posted last week! Your comments, emails and tweets were so awesome. I'm a firm believer in sharing quality content even if you don't directly benefit. With that being said, I know so many of you have decided to take your blog to the next level. To really push yourselves to create the kind of content that you as a reader would want to see. All I can say is: AWESOME!

Back in January 2010 I presented my readers with a link to purchase a blogger workbook from Darren Rowse from ProBlogger. If you don't know anything about Darren, I'll just let you in on this: he makes his full living on his blog. Which is cool. Not exactly feasible for every person on the planet, but that's not the point. Darren saw an opportunity to go after something, so he did. And that is to be admired. There are many other bloggers out there like him. You don't have to be a consultant or tech blog to make it happen for you. Lifestyle and fashion bloggers do it every day. And to be fair, it's not about making money off of your blog, it's about cultivating the best content you can for it and really pushing yourself to have something different. You can change everything in just 31 days.

Sure, I can blog pictures all day long from the internet but chances are highly likely that you saw them somewhere else first. Darren points out great tips on how to manifest original content so the blogosphere isn't a big cesspool of regurgitated material. (Sick mental image, right? Sorry!) Anyway – I wouldn't promote something I didn't believe in. I bought the ebook myself back in January 2010 and loved it. I've actually had many people buy the ebooks from my blog and I've heard nothing but rave reviews. (The best part... if you hate it, get a refund!) Simple right? Cool.

I'm not going to shove this down anyone's throat, but I figured it was worth putting out there once more as you can get a 50% discount through this here blog AND you also get a 1 hour Q&A podcast! Wahoo! (To clarify: the original price is $39.95 and you get it for $19.95!)

Here's an actual comment just left by Amanda!

I haven't purchased the copyright scorecard so I can't offer any genuine information on it from my experience, but I can stand behind the 31 DTABB. :) Anyway, if you snag one up, awesome! I hope it works wonders for you and makes you branch out! If you opt to pass, that's cool too! I'll never know haha If you've bought it in the past, please share your experiences in the comments! Or if you decide to buy it this time around, let me know your thoughts on it!

Now if ebooks and workbooks aren't your cup of tea and you'd rather just get sweet online shopping deals then maybe the next few links are for you! Below you will find a few of my invite codes for many invite-only websites and sites that allow you to get a ton of cash back! I'll only be sharing websites that I have used personally and regularly, but with my full-disclosure I will also tell you the benefits of inviting your friends, too.

Ebates is a website that allows you to shop online and earn a hefty amount of cash back rebates! These rebates can vary from 1% all the way up past 30% and 40%! Seriously! It's my favorite for Target.com and to find sales that currently offer Free Shipping. You also get some mad rewards for referring your friends until the end of the month! CLICK HERE to sign up and refer your friends. You could be the new owner of an iPad, Flip video, or even a vacation! (Yeah, it's not completely selfless but you want the iPad, too, right?!)

Shop It To Me is a retail-based website that sends you emails (you choose the frequency) with sales to your favorite brands such as J.Crew, Marc Jacobs, Urban Outfitters, etc. These can range up to 60% off! I've always hated myself for not snagging up a super cute MJ dress that was 55% off one day! For every 10 people you have sign up you also get a $10 giftcard to a shop of your choice. Some of the popular ones include Sephora, Urban Outfitters, and Starbucks! CLICK HERE if you'd like to try it out yourself! This is hands down my favorite online shopping tool. (Jeffrey Campbell shoes are on here almost every day for like $80!)

Gilt is an online retailer which brings you the best in high fashion at up to 70% off. You can find Men, Womens and Childrens clothing all at a ridiculous markdown if you catch it on the right day! You can invite 10 friends and snag Free Shipping as well as some rebate perks of your own! CLICK HERE if you think it's something you'd be into! You can also find some awesome tech gadgets, gifts, and kids' toys!

While there are definitely tons of other invite-only websites and rebate websites, these are the three that I swear by myself. I have yet to find any others that deliver the deals as consistently and as awesomely (is that a word?!) as the three above. So there you go! There you have it! One snazzy e-book offer at 50% off and 3 websites where you can indulge in that online shopping addiction without feeling guilty! Now I just need to remember to put these little links in a widget! Yow!

PS; if you're an online shopper activist and you want to save big time on websites, be sure to use Retail Me Not to find promo codes that will snag you a discount! The internet's best kept secret! Sort of!

Sweet Saturday + Some Links

And by sweet I mean chilly and wet. Oh so wet. It's been pouring all day long and apparently it's supposed to snow tonight! Snow in Tennessee... in December?! Hardly ever! It's "supposed" to accumulate so I'm hoping that it does. That'd be a treat!

I guess I should start with last night. I went to work last night hoping I'd feel better and I'm happy to report that I did! It's much easier to feel better when you're out and about as opposed to being cooped up all day complaining about being cooped up and sick! Luckily we were fairly busy too so it flew by. We came home however and Mike passed right out to bed and I laid awake for 2 extra hours. Finally found myself sleeping at 4:30am but waking up at 9:30. Fortunately I feel fairly well rested so it was okay.

Today we got dressed and headed into town. We ran to the mall [bad idea in December!], grabbed lunch at Garcia's, picked up a few things and then came home. We ran to Target, baked brownies and watched "Love and Other Disasters" on Netflix. Now I'm updating here, going to get dressed, and do the work thing all over again! It's crazy that Christmas is two weeks from today! Sheesh! Where did 2010 go?!

I was interviewed by Fresh Fashion Faces a few weeks [months?!] ago and the interview finally went up. You can check it out here if you desire.

Who is pumped about the season finale of Dexter tomorrow night?!?! I cannot contain my excitement. Mike and I are positively giddy and nervous and just... ahhh! I'm ultra excited there will be a season 6 because I really started to worry! My Sundays wouldn't be the same without Dexter!

I have a few links to share that I haven't in a while!

The first is for SHOP IT TO ME. If you haven't heard of SITM yet, it's a site that sends you all these rad sales [in just one convenient email] to brands of your choice. Marc Jacobs, Free People, J. Crew, Urban Outfitters.. etc... up to 50% off! You can also invite other people to join and then you get giftcards. Woo hoo! CLICK HERE if you'd like to sign up!

EBATES is an online shopping site that gives you a percentage of your purchase back as a rebate! Places like Target and such give you 5%+! Save on lots of your shopping. It's the perfect time for saving! CLICK HERE if you'd like an invite code!

Hopefully I'll have some giveaways up from our sponsors tomorrow! Be sure to check back and enter to win some lovely prizes in time for the holidays!

Now I need to rush off and find something to wear! Too-da-loo!

PS; What are your favorite movies to watch on Netflix Instant Play?!?! Give 'em to me! ;)

Outfit Post : Monday, July 26

Today I woke up extra early (and by extra early I just mean 9am on a day that I had absolutely nothing to do) so that I could get dressed and Mike could take some outfit photos before heading off to work. I found that waking up early as opposed to sleeping to an ungodly hour was actually really refreshing because on most days that I have no agenda, I stay in my pajamas until well past 3pm. I was all dolled up by 9:30am and that doesn't happen much! (I type this as I lay on the couch back in my pajamas... but I have a reason! I took sick this evening and well, I didn't wanna wrinkle a pretty dress!)

Most of my clothes are still stuffed in boxes somewhere between NYC and Tennessee as they haven't arrived and probably won't be here until Wednesday or Thursday. This is causing me to have to reevaluate what is in my closet already and wear it once more. I literally have not worn this dress in years. It's a fun little number though and I'm glad I put it on today! We ventured around the neighborhood to an abandoned house (they seem to be our favorite for outfit photos) and took advantage of the porch and what not.

For some reason my camera lens was oddly fogged up so I apologize for the weird look to these. I tried (and failed!) to fix it via Photoshop but I'm hoping it was just a minor glitch. (Please disregard my "tired eyes" in these photos!)

{Outift Details o7.26.1o}
{Dress: Forever 21 ($30)}
{Cardigan: H&M ($17)}
{Flats: Kmart ($13)}

And a funny/ridiculous Kaelah picture just for good measure (and then one with my favorite person ever)

xoxo

PS; Here are a round-up of links I wanted to share (and re-share!)

Shop It To Me: An Invite!

So I'm very much a shopaholic at heart. It's true. I feel like retail therapy is some of the best therapy around... well, maybe I'm biased. Either way, I've used Shop It To Me for the past few months and I've written about them before (usually just a little post script at the end of an entry) but upon rediscovering $120 worth of gift cards I thought I lost, I'm in a good mood and I want to share the wealth!

Shop It To Me is a website that deals out the latest and greatest sales on the web for all of your favorite designers. Be it True Religion, Free People, Marc Jacobs (my fave!), or Miu Miu. And the savings are ASTRONOMICAL! I'm talking 50% here! Anyway, It's no gimmick and it's 100% legit. You can sign up and choose to receive NO emails whatsoever! The best!

Well, to date, I've received $240 in giftcards from Shop It To Me... so I'm pretty much hooked. It's really as simple as signing up and spreading the word. So here I am... spreading the word! If you want to sign up, you can use my "Invite Only Link" and get it done!

Really... totally that simple! And now, I'm going to go use my rediscovered gift cards to Urban Outfitters to go buy me some sweet new gaudy headphones so I can stop complaining about these Apple earbuds! Finally! My ears shall rejoice!

xoxo

The past few days...

Here are a few photos to start the entry with... My left earlobe made it's way to 7/8" on its own, and it's JUST slightly shy of 1" so hopefully here soon I'll be there. We've been wrapping our plugs for stretching purposes because it requires a lot less of my ears. As some of you know, my right lobe got snagged and slightly jerked early last year and it tore just a teeeeensy little bit about 2 days after I had stretched it to 3/4". It was painful enough for me to take out my plug completely and let it heal up properly. I didn't want there to be any strange scarring around my plug so I gave it 13 months to heal perfectly. Luckily I have verrry very little scar tissue and I tried putting a regular earring in my ear the other day and who would've known.... there was still an open hole! I guess my mom getting me interested in body modification early on helped! (I had my ears first pierced at 6 weeks old). It still had an immense amount of elasticity in it so I'm now a bit lopsided with a 15/16" plug and an 8g plug haha I want to go very very slowly though as to not risk a blowout (My left earlobe is in PERFECT condition... never had a blowout and I intend on keeping it that way). I'm excited to be on the way to evening them out, even if I look a bit silly for a little while.

On Sunday, Mike and I woke up bright and early at 9am (well, that's bright and early to me when I stroll in from work after 3am) and got ready to venture up to Hermitage to pick up his son, Toby. The weather was gloomy and rainy and it was just not a pretty day. We drove down to Murfreesboro to celebrate his grandmother's birthday with his parents, sister & children, aunt and uncle, and grandparents. It was really really nice. His family was so welcoming and polite. They treated me just like family, which I greatly appreciated. His stepmom, Terri, made the most delicious vegetarian enchiladas for us (She even made some to send home with us! Yum!). Toby let me feed him at lunch and it made me feel like I had taken on step-mother duties. I enjoyed it very much. He walked all over the place! After some yummy cake, a wonderful conversation with his uncle on traveling Europe and art/art history, we departed (We arrived at noon and left at 6pm so it was quite a day!). We left so we could meet up with Mike's older brother Ryan, and his two friends, who were driving back to Oxford, MS from Washington DC. We all convened at Logan's in West Nashville and had dinner. After that we headed back to the north east side of Nashville to take Toby back to Sarah. We got home finally at 9:30pm. Phew! We were worn out! We stayed up to catch up on Community, The Office and Modern Family on Hulu before passing out.

Monday came and went. We woke up, I ran some errands, went to Print 2 class, went to Marshall's and got a dress while I was on the hunt for a laptop bag. Mike met me and we went to Nashville and hit up a few more stores. We ate breakfast/lunch/dinner at Tequila's (a Mexican restaurant in West Nash... we've made a very very bad habit of eating one meal a day. awful, I know. Our metabolism's aren't happy). My tummy did NOT agree with Mexican at all and all I wanted to do was throw up all night. ugh.

While we were at Marshall's, I saw the MOST darling little pink eyelet dress that I know my daughter will one day wear. (It's size 6 months, and NO I'm not pregnant, nor do I have any plans to be ANYYYY time soon.) It's just a bunch of wishful thinking. I told my mom this and she said "Buy a doll" hahahaha Oh Mom!

I was supposed to head over to Merissa's last night to study Art History with the girls. Sadly my tummy would not cooperate so I stayed in. The night ended with a far-less-than-pleasant conversation with someone followed by the sad disappointment of a movie, Did You Hear About The Morgans? We finally set ourselves for sleep about 2:30 and I woke up at 9.

I headed out to campus at 9:45 and piddled around with Merissa and such until class at 11. Now I'm at Panera trying to get a little bit of work done while Mike files his taxes. I need to be making Art History flashcards for the exam on Friday. Lots of studying to be done before then! You have no idea how difficult these tests are! Gah!

I hope everyone had a chance to download the mixtape I posted last night. If not, it's in the entry before this one. I think y'all would like some of the songs so give it a listen! If you hate it, you can always delete it :P

Also, I have some invite codes for Shop It To Me... It's a website that alerts you when some of your favorite brands have huge sales and such! The other day was 30% off Marc Jacobs! Swoon! CLICK HERE to sign up. It's easy peasy and you can even opt out of the emails (or set them to only come once a week/month). You can also score free giftcards to places like Starbucks, Urban Outfitters, J.Crew, etc. I've already received $40 worth of giftcards to Starbucks haha Coffee Coffee Coffee!

I'll be back later with Tattoo Tuesday and other fun treats!

Lookbook.Nu Inspiration

Lookbook.Nu is a wonderful source of inspiration via street fashion and global culture, but part of me hates the whole "hipster-faux-modeling" fad going on with the website. I have a profile, but I have uploaded no pictures... mainly for the fact that I dont fit the typical lookbook stereotype (I know, I know... Why am I even talking like this should stop me?) but what I mean is... 99% of the people who post on there look cracked out, homeless children (albeit, well dressed) hipsters. I can appreciate the trend, and I can appreciate the site. But I'm not 105lbs and 5'10" with blonde hair and a european accent... and to me, thats what you need to be "hyped" on Lookbook. Whatever. It doesn't stop me from perusing every single day, though. It's very much based not only on fashion, but on photography, composition, and a pose. No lie. Not that this is a bad thing! It's a wonderful thing... it's like a little one-stop-shop for inspiration regarding fashion AND photography. And not to mention I've found some very very lovely blogs via Lookbook. Anyway, I don't know what this whole deal was even about really haha... Here are a few looks that I love from the front page.

()
i'd wear everything here. so sweet and delicate and young.

()
this skirt is SO dreamy! and it's from H&M! if anyone is in a city with an H&M and you have it (and would be willing to go buy it for me) please let me know! i can paypal you the money because i am in love! and i won't be at an H&M until may! boo! :(

()
this outfit has inspired me for a cute new look for mike! not that i'm trying to change the way he dresses at all, but he'd look cute in a little grey hoodie and badass jacket! :D

()
i enjoy the composition of this picture, and her headband!

P.S... Lookbook is invite only, so if you'd like for me to invite you, leave your email below (Spell it out to avoid spam! ex. kaelahbee (at) gmail (dot) com). I'll invite as many people as it'll let me :)

Also, I'm not sure how many of you like to buy stuff online and all that jazz, but I have a few websites that are invite-only and they have HUGE sales on Philip Lim, Anna Sui, etc etc etc! Just click the links to be invited!

or if you're more of a Target.com, etc shopper, get rebates for all of these places when you shop online!

I can vouch for the authenticity of all of these sites as I (and many of my friends) have used them. They're a great way to get in on some SERIOUS secret sales and get money back in your wallet! :D we all know i LOVE to shop!
