Thank-you, again, to everyone who stopped by HomeGoods Facebook page last week and voted for the 4th of July tablescape I entered for the Happy Host Contest. I'm so happy to tell you that my tablescape placed in the top six finalist grouping (thanks to you!) so I'll be receiving a HomeGoods gift card sometime soon! The way it worked is they chose six tablescapes to be finalist and then from those six, they picked one winner. The five finalist who didn't receive the grand prize were not ranked, as far as I know. Hope they host this event again next year...it was so much fun seeing all the fabulous tablescapes!
Speaking of tablescapes, several weeks ago, I announced that on Saturdays, during the month of December, I'd love to posts pics of tablescapes created by Non-bloggers who are readers of BNOTP. Well, you guys got busy tablescaping and I've been having a blast viewing all the wonderful tablescapes you've e-mailed my way.
Did you get a chance to see the ones posted last Saturday? I think today's tablescapes, will be the last ones I'll be posting since next Saturday is so close to Christmas. We will have to do this again sometime, though. There are lots of very talented folks out there who love playing in the dishes but don't happen to have blogs.

Last year, I attempted to make a standing rib roast for our Christmas feast...I ruined it by squishing too much salt on the outside. I was literally in the midst of preparing it last year, when I happen to catch a show on the food network, and the chef guy, forgot his name, said to really heavily-coat the outside with salt. I did, and it was awful! I'm determined to do it right this year.
Any suggestions from all of you awesome cooks out there? Should I have used a special salt or is table salt ok? The roast was pretty good if you just stayed about an inch away from the outer part. :-( I really, really want to get it right this year!
